Sea View has expanded its services to Asia to support the growth and need for material programs in several Asian regions. Our Asia headquarters is established in Singapore and includes a warehouse that engages the same services as we currently provide in the US, along with some newly created logistics programs.
Today, the electronics industry is implementing a revolutionary change to the manufacturing process that involves the removal of hazardous substances. There are responsibilities that are inherent in all companies that handle electronic material at any point in the product life cycle. At Sea View, we have taken the initiative to test all incoming material received, and maintain a process that identifies material as RoHS compliant or not. When material is shipped to a customer, there is clear traceability to the products composition. There are thousands of suppliers that are handling electronic material and only a small number who can provide proof of identity for compliance or not. Without greater numbers of suppliers committed to improving their identification process, cross contamination, counterfeits, and errors will compromise the best efforts of manufacturers.
Sea View's migration to Asia in the last year was customer driven. The identical programs, equipment, and processes that have been so successful in our US headquarters are soon to be operational in Singapore. The recycling initiative assists our customers in determining WEEE compliant programs that compliment their total needs for excess and obsolete material disposition. Sea View's services are a welcome relief to most of the costly recycling programs that have proven to be undesirable and inefficient for manufacturers to adopt.
