Case Studies

  • Sea View provides seamless warehouse and supply chain logistics support and infrastructure to a leading OEM.

    Challenge

An OEM was shifting production from two CEMs, each with multiple locations, to a new CEM. This required warehouse and logistic support that would eliminate any risky interruption in the OEM's supply chain.

    Solution

Because the OEM lacked the infrastructure to maintain warehouse and logistics support, Sea View employed a Third Party Logistics Program (3PL) that offered the OEM secure storage as well as rapid, accurate movement of existing materials.

    Long Term Partnership

Sea View's 3PL solution continues to allow the OEM to safeguard its internal resources and eliminate costly inventory carrying overhead.

  • Sea View provides a comprehensive consignment program to a large contract manufacturer strapped with millions of dollars of excess inventory.

    Challenge

A contract manufacturer doing a turnkey build for a leading consumer electronics OEM experienced a build cancellation which resulted in millions of dollars of excess inventory.

    Solution

Sea View shipped the excess product from the CEM's three locations into Sea View's large, on-site warehouse. Once received, the excess product was inspected and evaluated for resale by Sea View's strategic account manager. Sea View then generated a proactive plan to discreetly and effectively sell the product into targeted companies in the contract manufacturer's vertical market.

    Long Term Partnership

Sea View continues to develop and deploy comprehensive consignment programs that not only meet, but exceed the contract manufacturer's financial and logistic objectives.

  • Sea View provides a global leader in mobile wireless products, inventory supply management services to meet tremendous sales growth.

    Challenge

A privately held, well-financed mobile wireless company had experienced a recent explosive growth surge in the first two quarters of 2004--surpassing profit projections by exceeding the previous year's sales tenfold. As a result of this sales peak, the company had accumulated large inventories of older technology, finished goods, and obsolete components. In addition to the surplus, the company had been storing the obsolete material at their contract manufacturer's site and had been paying extremely high storage fees.

    Solution

Sea View provided a solution that solved the company's current inventory challenge as well as its future inventory management needs. Sea View moved all of the company's excess material to Sea View on consignment--with no transportation or storage costs. By turning a manufacturing liability into revenue, Sea View continues to send the company monthly payments for material sold or scrapped.

    Long Term Partnership

As a result of this inventory solution, the mobile wireless product company sends excess material to Sea View on a regular basis, remaining free of costly surplus. Because of its global supply chain sourcing abilities, Sea View also assists the company with shortages and PPI programs to meet the company's considerable growth projections.
