RESULTS OF SEA VIEW/TRADEWINDS 4TH ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC TO BENEFIT THE JIMMY FUND

The Sea View- TradeWinds Golf Classic took place at the Atkinson Country Club and Resort on Monday, September 29, 2008. In its fourth year, over 120 players and sponsors combined to raise more than $30,000 for the Jimmy Fund. The Jimmy Fund Golf Program consists of more than 150 tournaments each year and has raised more than $40 million for cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

“Credit for the event’s success goes to our golf committee, volunteers, players, and sponsors for this event. This cause means a lot to us here at Sea View.” said Sea View’s President and CEO, Roland Brewer. “In the current economic climate, it is heartwarming to see all the people that come out to support this great cause,” said Steve Sewall, President, TradeWinds Mechanical Services. "We are proud to be partnering with Sea View on this; they run a first class tournament.”

Winning the scramble format tournament was the winning team of Gerald Langdon, Daryl Griffin, Al Mazza and Doug Dimes. Winner of the Closest to the Pin was Sea View’s own Shawn Finneran.

Jamie Staton of WMUR-TV enjoyed playing the tournament, which took place during a brief but welcome relief from the rain storms threatening to drench the area at that time.

Now, thanks to the contributions of millions of people, cancer death rates for adults are declining and cure rates for some forms of pediatric cancers are as high as 90 percent. But much work still needs to be done  one in three Americans are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in his or her lifetime.
